When waxing a car if i were to wax the plastic parts/ trim will that crack, fade,or hurt the paint inthe future?

Ive herd that if you wax the plastic parts on the outside the vehicle the paint might fade, or crack in the future?? I ve herd this theory twice on youtube, is this statement true and if so what should I use to protect the plastic parts on the sides , front , and back? I have a black truck with some black plastic and chrome parts on it.. Anybody that has some good advise I would really appreciate it!! ThanksWhen waxing a car if i were to wax the plastic parts/ trim will that crack, fade,or hurt the paint inthe future?
I have heard that that will cause damage, I know with black plastic parts it will more than likely leave a residue and look bad. There is a new was from Armour All I think it is called Ice that can be used anywhere on the car, it is a little more expensive but well worth it. I hope this will help! When waxing a car if i were to wax the plastic parts/ trim will that crack, fade,or hurt the paint inthe future?
Right on the can of wax you are using it should say something about it. It can be a warning like this ';Do not use on chrome'; or something like this. There are waxes, which are safe for almost any part of a car. You can call the company, which makes the wax and ask them. They always have their phone number on the can.
You will be ok if you wax the plastic parts that are painted with auto paint such as many bumpers, flairs, and the door skins of Saturns. Do not use wax on plastic trim pieces that are raw plastic and unpainted. It will end up looking dull with a white haze and it is very difficult to get the wax off later. There are a lot of products that are designed specifically for raw plastics, like Armour all. Use those on your unpainted plastic bits.
