WD-40, Effect on Car Paint?

Will the use of WD-40 on a car's body damages its paint?WD-40, Effect on Car Paint?

I just used to to get tar off my paint and my dad has used it on paint for years. Never had a problem, I don't think it is as harsh as Bug and Tar Remover and thats used on cars all the time.
NOT UNLESS YOU APPLY IT WITH STEEL WOOL


We used kerosene or diesel in the old days when wax wasnt available to make em shine.

I've used it on door hinges and such for years and have never seen any evidence of paint damage.
