Car paint job... buffing and polishing question.?

This is my question do you actually need buffing and polishing after a paint job... for example after you painted your car and then put that 2 or 3 coats of clear... do you need to buff and polish your car afterwards or can you leave it like that.. i mean without buff and polish and still have a nice looking paint job.Car paint job... buffing and polishing question.?
Yes, buffing and polishing after a paint job brings out the extra shine and luster of your car's color.

Just give a day or two for the paint to dry before doing the buffing and polishing. Moreover, don't do it when the car's surface is hot.

Goodluck!Car paint job... buffing and polishing question.?
No, you do not have to buff and polish your car after a paint job. There is however a reason that this practice is done. When you apply paint to a car, it doesn't flow out evenly. This is called orange peel. The orange peel causes the paint to lose the ability of clear reflection. What they do is wet sand the paint finish with 1500 or 2000 grit wet sand paper and knock down the high spots and then buff and polish it to renew the shine. This makes a better reflective surface and makes the paint job shine more. If it is a daily driver, and you are happy with the shine, just drive it. over time with regular washing and waxing the paint job will last the same amount of time weather you buff and polish it or not. If you want show quality, then definately wet sand, buff and polish. I hope this information answered your question. If you have any furthur questions, let me know and I will be happy to clarify for you.
if it was done properly, you won't ';NEED'; to buff and polish it, but it will definitely make it shine more! I think you need to wait a while to do that to a fresh paint job though.

If it's done right, they will wet sand it between coats of clear coat.
