Eco-friendly Car Paint?

Does this exist...? I'm trying to restore an old vw bus...just curiousEco-friendly Car Paint?
Sure does, but the clear coat is still old school. In a few areas in CA. and all over Europe it required. Check out PPG and Norton. They both have it and our shop is becoming one of the first in ND to do it. Email me at work at mark.felix@grandforks.af.mil. I contacts(I'm at home now).

Nathan is talking about a little less harmful, I'm talking water born paints.Eco-friendly Car Paint?
Call around the body shops in your area and ask if they use waterborne paints. CA is required by law to use them but other shops around the country are starting to switch. Waterborne paints have very little VOC emission in comparison to solvent based paints, which the majority of shops still use.

As far as rust inhibiting, the rust areas would need to be treated before the paint is applied. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways, but it would be best to get an estimate from a body shop so they can access the extent of the rust damage and decide the best route to take. good luck!
I've painted many cars, and most modern paint companies like Azko-Nobel or DuPont have relatively environmentally friendly products, provided you hook up an airbrush to a compressor, and don't use HVLP paint or a standard spray can, both of which spray far more chemicals than is necessary into the air. (isobutane or propane propellant in a spray can, and a thinner or solvent in HVLP)
yes it exist and it is water based instead of chemical so its eco friendly, GOOD LUCK on your vw
