Infrared Car Paint?????????????

So i was watching an episode of the TV show Numb3rs and the FBI car had infrared paint...so when they looked at it using an infrared computer filter on a digital photo a bunch of numbers appeared. I don't own a car, but lets imagine i do...could i go to a show and get custom designs and cool stuff drawn on it in infrared as a security feature?Infrared Car Paint?????????????
It is possible to paint objects with fluorescent paint that reflects in the ultraviolet or infrared spectrum. In fact, that type of paint has been around for decades. However, I doubt it would be easy to find a custom shop that would paint a car with that kind of paint, if any company even makes IR paint specially for cars. And if you could get that, it would be VERY expensive. Super-high-end custom jobs like that could run up around $10-15'000 depending on how much of the special paint you use and what kind of colors and clearcoat you get.

If the only reason you want that paint is for security, then you might think of something else ;) although that would be pretty cool to have the only car that reacts to IR light.Infrared Car Paint?????????????
Been working on cars most of my life and never heard anything so outrageous before. That is a huge claim for them to make. If they have managed to accomplish this, it would render most military detection systems useless. Guaranteed if it is real, it will cost more than the yearly salary of all the people you can think of COMBINED.

I think you have been Hoodwinked

but I have been wrong before....
Well I wouldn't go infrared, ultra violet would be better as you could illuminate with a black light or even a blue LED flashlight. If panted with nice designs, it would look very interesting driving down the strip as some of the neon signs will light it up.
