Ok, you'll need to use body filler to repair any large dents (if dents are of concern to you). If you use filler it should be sanded with 180 grit before you do any priming. If there is not any body damage to repair and just paint work to be performed, try this. Lightly sand the area to be painted with 320 grit paper. Use masking tape and old newspaper to mask off at least 2 feet of the area around the repair. Use quality primer to lay down three or four coats of primer and try not to prime up to your tape line. Allow several hours for the primer to fully dry and sand it smooth and flat with 320. Be sure to ';feather out'; any hard edges of paint or primer. For the best looking result, you will want to paint and clear the entire body panel that you are painting. Carefully mask off the closest areas around the panel you are painting and cover the rest of the car with an old blanket or soft tarp. Use a scotchbrite pad to scuff up the rest of the panel that was not sanded during the repair. Clean the area with a prep solvent and apply your paint and then clear coat in three medium coats allowing a few minutes between each coat. If you look around your town, you should be able to find an auto paint store who can sell you a factory matched paint color in an aerosol can and also a good clear. Hope that helps, take your time, and good luck.Car paint : do-it-yourself?
750.00 for a 15'; X15'; spot?????

They paint entire cars for 500.00 - out the door.

And might I also add that the crappy work at Macco will show.

I can do this for about 200.00

All you need to do is tape off the area -

sand it with some 700 grit sandpaper

prime the area

wetsand with 1500 grit wet sandpaper

and apply the paint and then the clear.

Afterwards you will have to use a rubbing compound - polish - and possibly wetsand to make the repair blend in.
Don't go with Maaco, for $750 you could get the whole car painted at a repectable place
TRY THIS SITE.
